HSK 2 Grammar Points List
HSK 2 grammar takes the basic sentence patterns from HSK 1 and adds the tools you need for everyday conversation: comparing things, talking about time, giving reasons, and asking about degree. MyHSK2 breaks this into 49 grammar categories, each with its own rule page and drills. These are some of the patterns you will use most:
- Comparisons with 比: A 比 B plus an adjective, e.g. 哥哥比我大三岁。 (Older brother is three years older than me.)
- Already, with 已经…了: mark that something has happened, e.g. 他已经回家了。 (He has already gone home.)
- Because and so, with 因为…所以…: link a cause to its result, e.g. 因为天气不好,所以我没去商店。
- Distance, with 离: say how far apart two places are, e.g. 我家离公司很远。
- The most, with 最: pick out the top of a group, e.g. 九月最好。
Work through the drills and rules tabs above until each pattern feels automatic, or read our full guide to HSK 2 grammar points.
HSK 2 Grammar, Updated for the 3.0 Standard
Under the HSK 3.0 standard (effective July 2026), HSK 2 grammar expands what you can express with time words (已经…了, …的时候), degree (有点儿…, 多), suggestions (一起…吧), and short patterns like doing something briefly (…一下). Our drills and sentence builder follow the updated syllabus, so you practice the patterns that actually appear on the new exam.
